Istanbul is the only city in the world that straddles 2 continents - Europe and Asia. Since the Asian side is mostly a bedroom community , tourists don't often visit. The New Airport in Istanbul is Ataturk International named after the Father of Turkish democracy. We flew to Konya from the Old Airport - Sabiha Gokcen - which is named for his daughter and the first female pilot in Turkey which says something about his values.
We flew on Pegasus Air for the grand total of $30 each for the one hour flight. Don't worry, the airline has an excellent safety record. Very no frills.

Crossing from the European side of Istanbul to the Asian side
On the Asian side building of high rise apartments is everywhere.
Taken from Taxi - not great but you can see some of the many high rises
Leaving bus to board our flight. The safety directions were given in a video by children of the airline. Really cute.
